Photographs - From the Dinnages Transport Publishing Negative/Slide Library

Our online store 'Photographs' catagory coveres ALL photographs published by us trading as 'Dinnages', created direct from the original negatives or slides in our Library. These Photographs in the Dinnages Library are both Black & White, and in Colour, taken mainly from these negatives or slides directly owned, some on exclusive loan, and are available as reprints either at an 'old postcard' format when they were 'hand printed' or generally since, like colour views at 6"x4". As anyone can imagine, the scanning, cataloging and adding to our shop system will take quite a long time, considering this amounts to over 25,000 of our own images. Some of these B&W views have at one time been already on our stall. Note that MOST of the material we are publishing has not been previously published or printed by any other individual or society. In very few cases the original photographer may have lent out a few negatives in the seventies for example so these will no longer be available from others now as we hold the negatives anyway. Some have been published in a handful of places, often without true and proper credit where it should have been. There are a few 'misued' in books and print form and a list is added to detailing those we know of. Some of the colour images we hold the negatives of, will not have been printed at 6x4 as yet! Those that are, are copies.

Some years ago after closing our retail premises, we wrote to our regular customers keeping them informed of new stock across the board, although had difficulty offering newly printed photographs, only as lists were not able to show the images. However as of Spring 2009 we have revived this into a postal Newsletter format, now in an A5 format specifically for those who do not manage to meet us at the few Southern events, and who have little or no internet access at home. So far we have not managed to add many of these photographs for online purchase, so we would encourage all of those interested in our library of images to subscribe to the postal Newsletter for a regular update and select some from our regular offerings. These newsletters will be sent to anyone making an order from one of the library newsletters, which in the new format reads like folded A4 sheets using 'Publisher' Therefore having pages at A5, this is the size of most club booklets and club Journals, such as the that changed format at the same time as ours for 'Sussex Transport Interest Group'. Within this format we are now able to provide a page of 28 thumbnails of the images offered for ordering on the month ahead. Those who would like a printed copy with all images shown, just send us a (long DL) stamped SAE. Postal rates through the Newsletter for these photographs on offer are lower than the online shop as a payment only covers for the boarded envelope and average based post charge, being just a photograph order. The general online sales and postal Library Newsletter orders cannot be combined, as they cater for different payment methods, and that Newsletter subscribers have first offers on newly printed photographs not yet available here, and none of these are to be found on the stall.

We also have a stock of over 70,000 UK wide views in our second-hand collection for sale that are just one-offs, bought or exchanged from other enthusiasts collections, where these can only be bought on our stall. These views cover trams, trolleybuses, buses, some railway, and cover many periods on B&W views to colour from the 1970's to the present day.
